Navigating Levels of Care and Medical Complications in Eating Disorders
Presented by
Dennis Gibson, MD, FACP, CEDS
Treating eating disorder patients takes an understanding of what type of treatment paths are available, known as Levels of Care (LOC). Matching the treatment level with the medical presentation of the patient is an important part of achieving treatment success. Understanding the different medical complications which can be life-threatening and medically damaging, is extremely important in the ability to make a decision on the correct LOC. Participants will learn from two medical doctors in the field, one treating patients at the residential level, and the other treating patients at the hospital level of care. Although this presentation targets medical professionals, all who care for eating disorder patients will benefit from becoming aware of the medical complications in this population. Less...
